I feel that there is more freedom and contemporary society has influenced the younger generations of today throught the media. Through this society is encouraged to do things that would be previously rejected in earlier decades because of the immoral nature of such activities due to the strong hold of the church pre 1960s. Also the emphasis on religion from older generations has been decreasing.
I think the NCLS website is right about the decline in church attendance. Reasons for this could be: -increased media coverage into religious flaws -changing values (sex, drugs, alcohol)
I believe that church attendance has dropped due to a lack of intrest in the church by younger generations. This is because of a lack of emphasis on Religion by parents, and society in general. People now have "better" things to do than attend Church which has lost it's appeal and is no longer seen as necessary to attend.
The drop in individual church attendances across christian denomonations may result in many conclusions. One reason possibly being due to the increase of interest in newer pentecostal churches. Teenagers today have learnt to incorporate contemporary music, and pop culture into their religious beliefs. A fastly increasing new age faith, Hillsong, has incurred alot of interest in many young australians, and younger generations across the world, decreasing interest in the more strictly 'formal' and traditional ways of proffessing faith.
I believe that religious adherence and church attendence is becoming less common in the younger generation due to the fact that Christianity has not modified its methods in order to make them relevant to the interests of today's youth...
Yes, I believe that church attends has dropped over the last forty years. Younger generations are the people that are dropping in attendants. The National Church Life Surveys and 2006 Australian Census shows the drop in attendants to church services. This could be due to things such as services not appealing to younger people and the changing values of things such as sex and drugs that are seen immoral by the church are turning teens away..
The people going to church are decreasing in number, i believe this is because of bordom, unmodern ways of presenting things to the youth, and the lifestyles many people have (which are usually very busy). Which all started from the 60s media coverage on sex drugs and rock n roll
i believe that the number of people attending church is declining. I believe that this is because going to church has become a chore for young people, as Church services are, to some people, defined as 'boring' and are less engaging as other things. Young people would rather spend their time in more engaging tasks and find going to church a hindrence on their lives.
i believe that the NCLS is correct in stating that church attendance has declined over the past years. i think this is due to many contributing factors, this includes; the increase of media scrutiny into the church, the change in social norms, the idea that church is a task as well as many others.
I believe that church attendance has dropped and may continue to do so, this may be due to the lack of significance of religion in society as younger generations today have lost interest, also there being an increase of Australians who choose to have no religion which rose to 19% in 2006.
I believe that the number of young people attending church and associating with the church is definitely going down. This is because many people (Generation Y especially) feel that the church, particularly the Catholic Church, is ‘out of touch’ and that the concept of religion is highly questionable to people today. When I say the "concept of religion is highly questionable to people today" I mean that with all the tragedy, heartache and turmoil happening around the world, questions the idea of a higher being or god. I also feel that because there are so many other religions and beliefs as well as information on everything is now so readily accessible, many doubts have been cast amongst younger generations.

I believe with the NCLS concluding that there's a decrease of church attenders. It was said in the article that most teenagers don't attend church and then go back when they got older. I think this happens not only because the youths lack interest in going to church but also because they weren't brought up attending church regularly by their parents. It is kind of a habit but then peer pressure could also affect the church attendance.
The churches lack of change regarding issues that coincide with popular culture have reduced their grasp on the younger generations. Due to technology and the time, younger generations seem to have an increasing control over their own beliefs and decisions ignoring family and religious commitments. Time can also be labelled as a factor as work hours slowly increase.Many of those working,find the hours of church dissruptive and long.
