Pictures of Jesus throughout history

For each of the following images of Jesus throughout history you are to:

a) Describe what the image looks like (2 sentences for each)
b) Choose two images that are similar and explain how they are similar
c) Choose two very different images and explain all of the differences

This can be done in your books or as a response to the post

a) picture 1- a tattoo of Jesus on someones skin. the bubbles make it look rough and bumpy.
picture 2- the shape behind his head looks like the sun. his body shape makes him look weak.
picture 3- it is a very modern version of jesus because of the mobile phone and glasses. but he also looks like the traditional jesus because of his clothing and hair accessory.
picture 4- jesus looks very small and powerless. he doesn't look in proportioned e.g his hands.
picture 5- jesus looks very old and his skin is wrinkly and saggy. he looks very weak in the face.
picture 6- it looks as if the original picture has been edited. he is a gothic version of jesus.
picture 7- it doesn't look like a normal picture you would see of jesus. both sides of hsi face are different.
picture 8- jesus is being represented as a whole different figure. in this picture he looks happy compared to looking weak and sad.
picture 9- in this picture Jesus is showed as powerful and mysterious. this painting is very realistic.
picture 10- this is an aboriginal's artwork of jesus. he is shown as one of them (the skin colour)

b) pictures 8 and 10- because in both of them he is shown as a different figure with darker skin colour so they can easily relate to him.

c) pictures 6 and 9- because in picture 6 he is shown as more powerful and someone you would be afraid of whereas in picture 9 he looks more graceful and the type of person you would look up to.

Images of Jesus throughout history.

A)Describe what the image looks like (in 2 sentences).

1. A) A tattoo of Jesus on someone’s arm made up of black circles.

2. A) this image looks like Jesus on the cross and there are people looking up to him.

3. A) this image is cartoon. He looks like a much laid back Jesus; he is wearing a dress with a phone and a book in his hands.

4. A) this image looks like it is made out of steel. It is Jesus on the cross.

5. A) this image is Jesus in his mother Mary’s arms. Jesus looks very pale.

6. A) Jesus in this image looks gothic. He has piercing all over his face and his chest. He looks very rebellious.

7. A) Jesus in this image looks very blank, with no expression on his face. He also has a halo around his head.

8. A) this image of Jesus looks African; he is hold an African looking baby. Jesus is smiling and he looks very happy. He is also holding a bunch of daisies which brings the image of joyous.

9. A) this image looks like it is in a frame. It is Jesus looking up diagonally with a halo and light behind him.

10. A) this image looks like an aboriginal dot painting of Jesus carrying the cross. But it also looks like he is on the ground so it looks like he has fallen.

B)Choose two images that are similar and explain how they are similar.

I think that the 3rd one, the cartoon one and the 8th one, Jesus with the baby are similar. Both images look like Jesus is very happy, joyous and laidback.


C) Choose two very different images and explain all of the differences.

I think the 3rd one, the cartoon one and the 6th one, the gothic one are very different. In the 3rd one Jesus look very happy and laidback. And in the 6th one Jesus looks very gothic and rebellious.

Picture 1-looks like tattoo of Jesus but blurred and hard to see the picture seems to be on a mans arm

Picture 2-jesus on a cross looking sad down at his mum and family just about when he went to die

Picture 3-jesus in modern time holding mobile and being happy with a crown f thorns on his head

Picture 4- a little metal cross with the symbol of Jesus on the cross looking down sad

Picture 5- a picture of Jesus died peaceful with his mother Mary holding him tight in her arms

Picture 6- a gothic Jesus looking angry or sad with a number of piecing on his face and ears and throat

Picture 7- drawing of Jesus wearing like a turban and seems calm and still in this picture of Jesus

Picture 8- Jesus looking happily at a little child with a bunch of flowers and he looks Jamaican

Picture 9- looking up to god with his heart rising into the sky with a halo over his head and he is probably praying

Picture 10- like an aboriginal painting of Jesus falling to the ground with the cross and looking sad

B)

Picture 6 is a powerful looking down with his piecing looking powerful
And
Picture 9 looking powerful when he is praying to god with his heart out of his chest

C)
Picture 1 is a tattoo that is a thing for life
And
Picture 4 is a metal cross which u could buy and give to some one as a gift

Image 1:

a) This picture of Jesus looks like a tattoo of Jesus. Circles accompany Jesus' face.

b) The two images that are similar are the 6th and the 7th image of God. They look the same because there both images of a white.

c) The third image is different because Jesus is laid back and in the 1st its a typical image of Jesus. The 5th image is different because you don't usualy see jesus like that.

Image 2:

a)This image is of jesus being crucified of the cross. It is a cartoon drawing.

Image 3:

a) In this picture, the image i see of Jesus is a laid back cartoon one.

Image 4 :

a) in this image what I see is Jesus being crucified on the cross. he was nailed to the cross.

Image 5:

a)This image is of Mary comforting Jesus. This gives the image of weakness on Jesus' part.

Image 6:
This image of jesus is of a goth Jesus. Hence the purple and the eyeliner. He also has piercings

image 7:

a) I see a normal painting of Jesus. This painting includes a halo.
