1. Jihad is a struggle or effort. The three most important struggles are the holy war, living out the muslim faith and building a good muslim society.
2. They perceive him as only a prophet.
3. Marks the night that the Qur'an was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad by Allah. This takes place during Ramadan and is considered the most important event in Muslim history, it is also a good time to ask for forgiveness.
4. Abortion: They view this as wrong, however in some circumstances it can be permitted. For example if it is dangerous for the mother. The more advanced the pregnancy the greater the wrong.
Animals: Animals must be treated with kindness and compassion, they exist for the benefit of human beings, all creatures made by Allah are loved.
Contraception: Islam is strongly pro family and think of all Children as gifts from God. More conservative Islamic people campaign against contraception.

The word Jihad means 'Holy War'. The word is used to describe a believers struggle to live out their faith, the stuggle to build a good Mulsim community and the struggle to defend Islam.

He is a very important prophet, he is described as a miracle of God, and the spirit and word of God and he predicts the coming of Muhammed.

the Lailat al Qadr is the powerful night that marks when the Qu'ran was shown to Muhammed by Allah. This night is seen as a significant historical event. Muslims spend this whole night praying and studying.

ABORTION: Muslims think abortions are wrong and forbid them, however in some cases it is accepted. If continuing the pregnancy is seen as a danger to the mother's life, then it is permitted to have an abortion, this is the only reason accepted after 120 days of pregnancy.
ANIMALS: Muslims care for animals alot for they believe they were created by Allah for their benefit and they are forbidden to treat them cruelly.
CONTRACEPTION: Islam accepts children as gifts as God so they permit child birth how ever sex is usually forbidded outside marriage, many muslims are against the use of condoms and other birth control methods.

probably Judaism because firstly, both Islam and Judaism circumcise their boys, for it is seen as a purification to both. Judaism also find it respectful to their faith to fast every so often, Muslims fast as one of their five pillars (the Salat).

Between both Judaism and Christianity the most similar to Islam is Judaism.
the first similarity being the belief in one and only one God, although christianty believe in only one God they believe in him as one as three persons where as islam and judaism do not.

The religion most simliar to Islam is Judaism. This is becuase many aspects of faith and practice is similar.
The first similarity between both religions is that are of same origin, this being Abrahamic. For this faith is an splinter of Judaism and has roots to the prophet Abraham.
Another similarity between the two is the central idea of strict monotheism, One God unlike the Trnity in Christianity. Judaism and Islam revieve Jesus as prophet with the Muslim regarding him in the top five. Also both religions believe in angels and demon shown the Ismalic 'Angels' and Jewish 'Torah, Prophets and Ketubim.'
A major similarity that can link to the last point is sacred texts. This being one major text Islam's 'Qu'ran' and Judaism's bible consisting of the 'Torah, Prophets and Ketubim' With Christianity having two in one with the Old (jewish) and New (christian) Testament.
Lastly is the common belief of whom classifies as a revered human. The Islamic believe that only Prophets can classify as a revieved human this belief is shared by the Jewish faith. Unlike the shared beliefs of Judaism and Islam, Chistianity believs that Sanits and Church Fathers classify as Revived Humans aswell.

The relationship between Islam and Judaism is a special and close one. The two religions share similar values, and Islam incorporates Jewish history as a part of its own. Muslims regard the Children of Israel as a central religious concept in Islam. Moses is mentioned in the Holy Qur’an more than any other prophet. Jews in turn see Muslims as prefect monotheists and as adherents of the Seven Laws of Noah. According to Judaism, Muslims are seen as righteous people of God. The historical interaction of Judaism and Islam started in the 7th century AD with the origin and spread of Islam in the Arabian peninsula.
Because Islam has its foundation in Judaism and share a common origin in the Middle East through Abraham, both are considered Abrahamic religions.

Jesus, to Muslims, is a significant prophet of the religion an dis also refered to as a mircale of God.

Lailat al Qadr is known as the Night of Power which is celebrated on the 27th day of Ramadan. This is the same day as the first revelation of the Qur'an to the prophet Muhammad.

Abortion: abortion is wrong and 'haram' (or forbidden) but only allowed in certain cases. These cases include if the mothers life is in danger but is only accepted after pregnancy for 120 days.
Contraception: there is no one view on this topic but is only taught in the context of a husband and a wife as sex outside marriage is wrong.
Capital Punishment: this is accepted by the Islamic religion but forgiveness is preferred to killing as it is a peaceful option which is a major theme in the Qur'anic

6. Which religion is Islam more similar to? Judaism or Christianity and explain why?
Islam is more similar to Judaism due to similar beliefs and practices. Some of the similar beliefs include the belief of God having/had no son, that Jesus was a prophet from God and that there is only one God. Similar practices include fasting, circumcision, the eating of certain animals and only eating animals killed in a certain way (Judaism is kosher, Muslim is halal).
6) Islam is more like Judaism in my opinion. This is because Islam and Judaism hold many beliefs in common (which is also true for Christianity but not as much).
For example, Judaism and Islam both believe in the existence of one God, one overall creator, almighty and not split in anyway, unlike the Christian belief in the Trinity of God.
Judaism and Islam also hold what can arguably said to be similar food practices, in that they may only eat certain types of foods (Kosher and Halal meat).
Thirdly, Islam and Judaism both see Jesus as an important prophet and is one of the major prophets in both religions, however they do not see him as a messiah or the son of God as Christians do.
Finally, they hold similar practices, such as the circumcision of their boys, although they do not do it for the same reasons.
Briefly explain Jihad
Jihad did have two variant meanings through the centuries, one more radical, one less so. The first holds that Muslims who interpret their faith differently are infidels and therefore legitimate targets of jihad. (This is why Algerians, Egyptians and Afghans have found themselves, like Americans and Israelis, so often the victims of jihadist aggression.) The second meaning, associated with mystics, rejects the legal definition of jihad as armed conflict and tells Muslims to withdraw from the worldly concerns to achieve spiritual depth.
What do Muslims think of Jesus?
Muslims respect and venerate Jesus Christ. They consider him to be one of God's greatest messengers to humankind. The Qur'an re-affirms his miraculous birth and his miraculous abilities. Furthermore, his mother Mary is regarded as one of the most pure and exalted women of all creation.
Islam regards its teachings to be a re-affirmation and culmination of the teachings of previous monotheistic religions like Judaism and Christianity.
What is Lailat al Qadr?
The Lailat al Qadr was the night the Muslims believe that the angel Gabriel dictated the first verses of the Qur'an to the prophet Muhammad. Its is also believed to be considered the night of Excellence by all Muslims.
Islam’s and war
Islam permits fighting in self-defense, in defense of one's faith, or on the part of those whose basic rights have been violated. It lays down strict rules of combat that include prohibitions against harming civilians and against destroying crops, trees, and livestock. As Muslims see it, injustice would be triumphant in the world if good people were not prepared to fight for a righteous cause. Jihad, as Islamic concept, can be on a personal level - inner struggle against evil within oneself; struggle for decency and goodness on the social level; and struggle on the battlefield, if and when necessary.
Islam and capital punishment
Islam on the whole accepts capital punishment but even though the death penalty is allowed, forgiveness is preferable. Forgiveness, together with peace, is a predominant Qur'anic theme. Muslims believe that capital punishment is a most severe sentence but one that may be commanded by a court for crimes of suitable severity. While there may be more profound punishment at the hands of God, there is also room for an earthly punishment.
Islamic teachings on abortion
Muslims regard abortion as wrong and forbidden, but many accept that it may be permitted in certain cases. All schools of Muslim law accept that abortion is permitted if continuing the pregnancy would put the mother's life in real danger. This is the only reason accepted for abortion after 120 days of the pregnancy.

Daily prayers: Salah is the name for the obligatory prayers that are performed five times a day, and are a direct link between the worshipper and God.
Almsgiving: An important principle of Islam is that everything belongs to God, and that wealth is therefore held by human beings in trust.
Self-purification through fasting: Every year in the month of Ramada-n, all Muslims fast from dawn until sundown--abstaining from food, drink, and sexual relations with their spouses.
Pilgrimage: The pilgrimage to Makkah (the hajj)

Islam is more similar to Judaism as many of the customs are similar. Islam and Judaism both believe in the concept of one god where as Christians believe in the concept that god is Triune another reason why Jew and Muslims are close are there food preparations for example, Islamic people can only eat Halal meat, and for Judaism they can only eat kosher meals.

Even though Islam, Christianity and Judaism all come from the same Abrahamic background, they have each branched out to form there own identity as a religion. However, out of the three religions, Islam and Judaism share the most similarities. The first major similarity is the fact that they both believe in only one God, who only has on form. He is the one and only God. Also, they both share similar sacred texts as many of the teaching of the prophets that are outlined in the Tanakh, are also contained within the Qur’an. Also both religions share similar requirements when it comes to dietary requirements. In the same way that Jews aren’t allowed to food that isn’t kosher, Muslims are not allowed to eat any product that isn’t halal. Finally, both Judaism and Islam believe that Jesus was an important prophet and messenger from God but don’t consider him to be the son of God or the Messiah.

Judaism is more similar to Islam because they both denied the resurrection of Jesus and that he is not divine. They also both don't believe in the Holy Trinity, where God the Father, Jesus the Son of God and the Holy Spirit are one. The concept of original sin is also rejected by both Islam and Judaism and they believe that by doing good works, they can achieve Salvation. The Old Testament is considered to be a Holy Text by both religions. Their days of worship are a bit similar as they both start on a friday, but for Jews it ends on saturday.

These include:
-the Jews take the Torah as the words of God, as the Muslims believe the Qur'an is the word of God
-both religions circumcise their young initiates

I think that Islam is common with Judaism due to a number of reasons. Firstly, both of the religions have much of the same practices including circumcision and the eating of certain and particular meat.
Also, both religions have some of the same beliefs. The belief that Jesus was just a prophet and that God has no son and therefore no belief in the trinity is evident in both religions.
Both Islam and Judaism as well have a written, scared text (Islam: Qur'an and Judaism: Torah)both texts which are considered to Christians as the Old Testament.

Islam is more similar to Judaism, this is due to many similarities. Both religions believe in only one God who has no son and no helper whereas Christians believe that there is also God the son and God the Holy Spirit.
Another similarity is the religious law based on oral tradition, in Islam the laws are the Sharia and in Judaism they are the Halakha. Both have very strict dietary laws, both prohibit pork. Both religions practice the circumcision for males. Finally both believe Jesus to be an important prophet.

Although all three religions share a signifiant amount of interrelated history, It is Judaism and Islam that are more similar. Both adherents of Islam and Judaism are strict monothesists and believe in one central figure- in comparison to Christianity which believes in three (Holy Trinity). Another way in which they are similar is that they both don’t center around Jesus. They also share similary dietary restrictions: halal for Muslims and Kosher for Jews. Both religions believe in circumcision.
