Couple stoned to death
An Afghan couple who had allegedly committed adultery have suffered the consequences at the hands of the Taliban by death by stoning. The sentence was carried out in the Mullah Quli village which as it so happens is under control of the Taliban. A Taliban commander confessed the killings, claiming that the couple had confessed to their crime. The male was married, female engaged. Although afghan leaders are urged to stand against the Taliban's infamous acts of righteousness, in Islamic sharia law, death by stoning is condoned to punish such acts of adultery.
Despite a confession by the couple of their crime, it is wrong to punish the accused without public trial. In Islamic Sharia law, death by stoning may seem fine but in westernized ethics adultery deserves no punishment. A person should be granted free will in who he or she wants to 'consort' with
Despite religious law, all people should abide by their country's law despite their religious beliefs. The Taliban have no right to deal in justice if they are not allowing liberty. In Islam it is Allah who deals the final judgment not the vastly inferior man.
Muslim debate overpowering American president
The American president is taking some heavy flak from the American public over his decision to support the construction of a mosque ironically close to the site of the 9/11 terrorist attacks that sparked the controversial 'War on Terror'. The number of Americans that believe the president is a Muslim has significantly increased despite being strongly Christian. A Muslim woman has also started controversy among the Muslim community in America after she filed a discriminant complaint after being sent home without pay at her job at a Disney restaurant when she did not remove her Burqua
Not paying a person after they have completed a job and has agreed to be paid for it after its completion because of her religious practices is ethically wrong. Employers should not discriminate but give equal employment opportunities to all. There is no ethical wrong in building a place of worship near places of despair, it happens all the time. Even if the religious building appears to be associated with the causes of the despair.
It is no surprise that many Americans are under the impression of their president being Muslim. His last name is strikingly similar to the first name of a certain someone. Especially if many Americans associate great emotional pain and hatred to that certain someone. Americans were in a state of shock and despair after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, they were unsure of their enemy and who was responsible. Out from the murky depths of George bush and the American media they were given their enemy, and all the dirty little things associated with such a monster. Unfortunately one of those things was Islam, because of this it is easy for us to understand the American protest at the construction of a mosque. Obama is making a good decision as a person to support the construction of the mosque, but not a good decision as a politician. On the contrary Disney seem to know the importance of politics and are smart to know that a representative of their company should not be inviting negative attitudes. Therefore it is in their best interests to ensure nobody is displaying their Islamic beliefs as Islam has so many negative associations in America. Disney= cold hearted but intelligent businessmen. Obama = Bad politician, but if it actually counts for anything in this world he is a good, open minded human being.
